1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how RoamGo LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, with its registered address at 1111B S Governors Ave # 98660, Dover, DE 19904, USA (“RoamGo”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses and safeguards personal information in connection with the website located at https://roamgo.net (the “Website”) and the eSIM connectivity products and related services offered through it (collectively, the “Services”).
This Policy applies to visitors of the Website, purchasers of Data Plans, holders of an Account, and anyone else whose personal information we process in connection with the Services. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in our Terms and Conditions.
By using the Website or the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or the Services.
2. Data Controller
RoamGo LLC is the “data controller” (under EU/UK GDPR) or “business” (under the California Consumer Privacy Act) responsible for the personal information described in this Policy. You can contact us using the details in Section 14.
3. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information, directly from you, automatically through your use of the Services, or from third parties such as payment processors and Local Partners:
- Identity and contact data — name, email address, and, where required for tax or billing purposes, billing address, postal code, country and VAT or tax identification number.
- Account data — login credentials (stored as hashed or opaque tokens), authentication events, and your preferences for language, notifications and marketing.
- Order and transaction data — the Data Plans you purchase, order reference numbers, currency and amount paid, invoice numbers, and refund history.
- Payment data — payment card brand and last four digits, billing country, and other information necessary to process payments through our third-party payment service providers. We do not store complete payment card numbers or CVV values on our own systems.
- eSIM and network usage data — the ICCID and activation identifiers of the eSIMs issued to you, the date of Activation, the country in which the eSIM registers on a network, the volume of data consumed, and the status of the Data Plan (active, expired, depleted).
- Device and technical data — device model, operating system, browser type and version, language settings, time zone, IP address, screen size, and similar information collected by our servers and analytics tools.
- Communications data — the content of emails, chat messages, support tickets and other communications you send to us, along with metadata such as timestamps and message identifiers.
- Cookies and similar technologies — information collected through cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies, as further described in Section 8.
Providing most of the information above is voluntary, but certain data is necessary to deliver the Services. For example, we cannot fulfill an eSIM purchase without your email address, and we cannot process payment without billing information. Where information is required, we will indicate this at the point of collection.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To create and maintain your Account and to authenticate access to the Services.
- To process your orders, deliver eSIM activation details, issue invoices and manage refunds.
- To provide, monitor and maintain the Services, including routing your eSIM onto Local Partner networks and reporting usage back to you.
- To provide customer support, respond to your inquiries and resolve technical issues.
- To prevent, detect and investigate fraud, abuse, violations of our Terms, and threats to the security of the Services.
- To comply with legal obligations, including tax, accounting, consumer protection and telecommunications regulation.
- To improve the Services through analytics, aggregated reporting, quality assurance and product research.
- To send transactional communications such as order confirmations, activation instructions, service announcements and security notices.
- With your consent where required, to send marketing communications about products, offers and travel tips, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- To establish, exercise or defend legal claims, and to enforce our Terms and other agreements.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on the following bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Services you have purchased and to administer your Account.
- Compliance with a legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting, consumer-protection, telecommunications and other legal requirements.
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure and improve the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and communicate with you about the Services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent — for marketing communications, non-essential cookies, and any other processing that requires your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
7. International Data Transfers
Because the Services are inherently international, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside, including the United States. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those of your home jurisdiction.
When we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland to a country that has not received an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under applicable law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or an equivalent mechanism, together with supplementary measures where required.
You can request a copy of the safeguards we use for a particular transfer by contacting us using the details in Section 14.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. In general:
- Account and order data — retained for the life of your Account and, after closure, for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, consumer-protection and anti-fraud laws (typically up to seven years).
- Invoices and tax records — retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting legislation in the relevant jurisdiction.
- eSIM and network usage data — retained for as long as necessary to provide the Services, handle disputes and refunds, and for the period required by telecommunications and anti-fraud rules.
- Support communications — retained for up to three years after the last contact, unless a longer retention is required to defend a legal claim.
- Marketing data — retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, and for a short additional period to process your request.
- Cookies and analytics data — retained in accordance with the retention periods described in the cookie settings on the Website.
When we no longer need personal information, we will delete it or irreversibly anonymize it.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have one or more of the following rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you:
- Right of access — to obtain confirmation of whether we process your personal information and to receive a copy of that information.
- Right to rectification — to request correction of personal information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to erasure — to request deletion of your personal information in the circumstances permitted by applicable law.
- Right to restriction — to request that we restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability — to receive certain personal information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.
- Right to object — to object to processing that is based on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent — to withdraw consent at any time where our processing is based on your consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Right to lodge a complaint — to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority if you believe our processing infringes applicable law.
California residents. If you are a resident of California, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the right to delete personal information we have collected from you, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (RoamGo does not sell personal information in the traditional sense), and the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. You are entitled to exercise these rights without discriminatory treatment.
Other U.S. state residents. If you are a resident of a U.S. state that has enacted a comprehensive consumer-privacy law, you may have rights similar to those listed above. We will honor those rights to the extent required by applicable law.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request and may decline requests that are unfounded, repetitive or prohibited by applicable law.
11. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age of sixteen (16), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without verified parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us using the details in Section 14.
12. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, the information we process. These measures include encryption in transit, access controls, segregation of environments, logging and monitoring, vendor due diligence and employee training.
No internet transmission or electronic storage is ever completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your Account credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.
13. Third-Party Links and Integrations
The Website may contain links to third-party websites, applications and services, and may integrate with third-party platforms such as payment processors or analytics providers. This Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third party before providing them with your personal information.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on the Website with a revised “Effective date.” Where a change is material, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the Website prior to the change taking effect.
